A water-cooled industrial chiller is a type of industrial refrigeration system that uses water as the cooling medium for the condenser. Its condenser is typically a shell-and-tube or plate heat exchanger, requiring an external cooling tower, cooling water tank, or other water source to carry away the heat rejected from the refrigerant. Compared to air-cooled chillers, water-cooled models offer higher heat transfer efficiency, more stable operation, and are unaffected by high ambient temperatures. They are ideal for medium to large cooling loads or continuous industrial processes, but they require a dedicated water circulation system and regular maintenance.
